Families of the victims of the Esidimeni tragedy are hoping to get closure now. They and government have agreed on arbitration to resolve their differences. The agreement follows the Health Ombudsman's recommendations. Family members of the victims want former Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu jailed. Public hearings will now be held for the affected families - as mediation begins. The process chaired by retired Concourt Judge, Dikgang Moseneke is expected to delve deeper into the tragedy. Over a hundred mentally-ill patients died last year after they were moved to unlicensed NGO's. Christine Nxumalo, who lost her sister in the Esidimeni tragedy, is also the spokesperson for the victims' families.
