Medicinal Yoga Mats and Ayurvedic Textiles

Today’s guest opened up our minds and our mats to the massive impact of textiles. Heather Parkin is the founder of Bennd, an Ayurvedic and medicinal yoga mat and textile brand. Heather introduces us to a new concept (well, new to us) called Ayurvastra. As you may have guessed, Ayurvastra is a branch of Ayurveda. Essentially, this arm of the ancient healing lineage uses cotton as a medium for absorbing herb preparations into materials and textiles. Heather has used Ayurvastra to create her own line of healing yoga products and it was an absolute revelation to learn more about healing materials, Heather’s personal journey, and ways we can all add more personal wellness into our practice.
