S3 E20 The Conductor - In order to be an effective and successful leader you must combine a few different skills and strategies. It can often be critical to be able to properly know when to implement which strategies and in which situations. Organizing and structuring everything seamlessly requires skill, and thats just structuring your strategies. Thats completely separate from utilizing those around you while simultaneously looking out for their best interest ( even when they can't see it). This is a huge responsibility. Directing and orchestrating all of that can be relative to the role of a Conductor. The job of a Conductor in the musical aspect is to direct the performance of an orchestra or choir. Queuing in the parts at crucial moments, knowing when and what instrument should be heard making it flow together in harmony. It can look easy from an outsiders perspective, and as a kid who played violin I even scoffed at the conductor. "Look at em up there flailing his arms while we play" This was before I realized the conductor always knows the entire piece being played down to the tee and the notes. Who would voluntarily want to be in that role knowing the scrutiny and lack of appreciation that come with it? Conducting is about the end goal, the overall piece. A conductor strangely enough is also a material or device that conducts or transmits heat, electricity, or sound, especially when regarded in terms of its capacity to do this. That is a loaded yet relative definition. This is an object that allows particles to flow freely and well in harmony. This also passes along a charge. As a leader do you think youll be required to pass a charge along or provide a spark. Another keyword is Capacity. As a Leader you will need to have a capacity or threshold for multiple things as you are constantly being judged, critiqued and often viewed as the bad guy. Most people can't handle that, let alone continue to lead selflessly while that happens. Your tools are only as good as your ability to use them, in this episode we will talk about ways to use them better and be able to Conduct as you Lead.

S3E19 The Art of the Ear -
In order to be an effect Leader you must be able to sometimes quickly and decisively get to the root causes of issues your team or those you lead will eventually face. Knowing a persons personality, and how they look at things can be key when your are trying to get the best from them. in conversation there is a hidden war going on where there is literally a disconnect. A lot of people even use that very word (disconnect) as the actual and correct term for what's happening in less than fluid conversations. Even still a majority of listeners power through it due to the failing to listen the correct or in the correct way. That very thing is often the accelerant used to ignites this literal war of words. Or with it rather... We tend to get get offended (thinking you don't care, thinking your selfish, getting upset) when we feel/think that the person we are speaking with isn't listening. That can often ( and usually does) lead to us getting offensive (taking louder, not listening, talking more, saying trigger words or things to gain attention). Since we aren't voicing out feelings it is easy to disregard or over look these triggers, and sooner or later you bound to hear. " Your not listening to me".
I'm not sure about you , but I tend get DEFENSIVE about being told I don't listen (Sounds like a battle to me). There are a few different listening types, and most people are familiar with them. The issue can come from not knowing which one to use, and in which situation. The disconnect happens when we choose the incorrect listening approach, and fail to change or adapt it. Understanding how to effectively analyze conversations and the direction they are heading towards can allow you to get those rocky or difficult conversations back on track and ensure you can connect.

S3E18 Independence Day - Freeing yourself from intrusive or unfavorable thoughts can be one of the most liberating, and peaceful things you can experience. I base many of my strategies and points of view from the foundation of looking at things from an unbiased P.O.V.. and that starts with looking at the thoughts we have about ourselves , which can be a hurdle often too high for most to clear. What if I told you you weren't destined to be bad with money just because you came from poverty. What if you didn't have to have a turbulent love life due to a childhood filled with issues and dysfunction? What if you didnt have to suffer from a "Hereditary Disease" just because your other family members have . Maybe you will maybe you won't, but the bigger picture is understanding the weight these things can carry when your constantly held down and distracted by these thoughts or beliefs. Letting go of negative thoughts about yourself or viewpoints that are based strictly on your culture can not only be peaceful, but advantageous. Being to rigid with our own thoughts or getting too comfortable with the way we think can often cause us to miss opportunities, and chances that can put us in a better positions in our lives. ( Financially, Spiritually, Physically). So on this episode lets celebrate freeing ourselves from any thoughts and ideas that aren't beneficial to us and those around us.

S3 E17 Squad Goals - When it comes to being a leader nothing is as important as knowing the people you lead on a deep level. Building a relationship with your team isn't about getting them to do certain tasks, as finding people to complete a task is very easy to do. The key is getting them to stick around and taking it further actually enjoying what they do which leads to higher production. What most leaders fail to grasp is that there is no way no fake getting to know someone. The only true way to get 110% out of people is by showing through your everyday actions and words you are giving them that same 110%. This is done by removing yourself as the main focus and seeking to know others in the same way you know yourself. Chris Paul a NBA PG currently in the Western Conference Finals has lately been referred to as one of the greatest leaders of all time. Chris has shown that regardless of the team and situation he can quickly ( Same year Quickly) turn a franchise and its culture in to something greater than it was prior to his arrival. His position (on the court as well) requires he know his teammates on a deep level in order to be successful. Knowing their body language, tendencies, mannerisms and more allows him to become an efficient and elite floor general regardless of whos around him. This is due to his Squad Goals and knowing what it takes to get the best out of those around him. So join me on this episode as I give you the mindset of a great leader who can bring everyone together for the greater good and overall " Squad Goal" of success.

S3 E16 True Lies - When it comes to being a Leader you must have a strong grasp and understanding of how to deal with people from different backgrounds who have different points of view. One of the hardest things can be to get people to take accountability for their actions or behaviors. We have all been in that situation where someone is being less than truthful and every knows it yet they hang on to that untruth. If your like me it can be hard to understand why someone would continue to make themselves look foolish even in cases where undeniable evidence is presented. I have discovered one of the main reasons for this, and simply but most people believe the lies they tell. This can stem from years of of damage to our reward system which is self deception. In a society where it can be easy to get what you want when you want without much effort it easy to believe you deserve certain things or that the world revolves around your ideology and beliefs. The issue with this type of rewarding is it builds entitlement and unchecked it can quickly spiral out of control and seriously damage the way you view and feel about life's reality's and the adversities that come with it. Entitlement and Self deception clouds your view an understanding of what is reality vs being what we want it to be, and in order to be an effective and efficient leader you have to make sure you have a check on this. Before you ask people to be honest with your and themselves you must make sure you lead and live in a way that supports that same honesty and understanding of things and how they truly are.
