Shame is the most painful of all human emotions because it doesn’t just say you did something wrong. It says you ARE something wrong.
It lives in the body like a stone in the chest. It makes you want to hide, to shrink, to disappear. And the cruellest thing about shame is that it thrives in silence, the less we speak of it, the more power it has over us.
This meditation will not take the shame away. But it will ask you to sit with it, breathe through it, and find underneath it the truth that shame works so hard to bury, that you are not your worst moment. That you are not what happened to you. That you are worthy of compassion. Especially from yourself.
Bring it to the cushion. Come as you are. 🌿
