Definition: The House Church is the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Family of God, operating in all the city, all week long, with active participation by all its members, using the homes of the brothers as a base and center of operations. It is the Church of Jesus moving into the neighborhood, right next door to people Jesus loves.

The New Testament paints a picture of the Church of Jesus Christ with bright terms of unity, commitment, love and koinonia. Many are those who understand this vision of the Church and wish to see it come true amid the apathy and rebellion of our day. The House Church is the appropriate manifestation of the life of Christ in fellowship in our current post-Christian world.

The House Church is the ideal situation for the Church to live according to its gifts, ministries and its mission. It is where the once again aliens, exiles, sojourners, and foreigners of our world live and thrive. It is a witness to the world of the word of God, the power of God and the love of God. The House Church is a family in a hostile post-Christian world.

Often pastoral care, worship, discipleship, kerygma and didake, koinonía, spiritual gifts, integral healing, prayer, the sacraments, and leadership development are well understood and best applied in the House Church setting.
