Woodsongs creator Michael Johnathon's live music show every Monday in Lexington is broadcast around the world. Michael's childhood neighbor Pete Seeger, THE REAL PETE SEEGER, encouraged him to move to Appalachia to absorb the area's music and culture to chase his dream of becoming a folk singer.
Today, Michael Johnathon performs for millions who tune into his show, and visits schools to continue teaching students the rich heritage of Appalachian music and Kentucky lore. He also writes books, gathers song creators, and collects musical instruments to replace those lost in natural disasters.
Michael and his family live in a log cabin outside Lexington.
