Forget beach reads, we want lake reads. Currently planning our next trip to Canada to live out our Carley Fortune dreams, especially after finishing her second novel, Meet Me at the Lake. Told in our favorite style of alternating timelines, this book is a love story of how one single day turned strangers into lovers. Will & Fernie work through the aftermath of their meeting 10 years later, only to find that their attraction to each other is stronger than ever. In this episode, we talk about love & heartbreak, but also, personal challenges, growth and mental health awareness. We love a good romance but we love a powerful message more and there is such a sweet one hidden in this book. 

If you haven’t listened to episode 3, you might want to do that first because we are revisiting Every Summer After to discuss how Carley Fortune has evolved as an author. She is so captivating, and makes you feel every single moment and emotion she is writing in her books. It’s truly magical. Or should we say enchanting? It was pretty quickly into this book that we knew that the song for this episode was going to be Enchanted from the Speak Now era, and when we heard the announcement of Taylor’s Version (coming July 7th) the same day we finished Meet Me at the Lake, we had too much to say about it.
