Listen Later

Welcome to the Guilbault Girls Show where you will have the opportunity to hear from mothers, fathers, siblings, and individuals themselves about their journey of living with a disability.

In this episode we had the pleasure of interviewing Meg Zucker.

Meg is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and NYU School of Law and is an attorney and leader in anti-money laundering and financial crimes on Wall Street. She is also the founder and president of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It® (DHIFI), which is a non-profit whose mission is to advance understanding, tolerance, and mutual respect for people's differences. It provides “flaunt it” Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and anti-bullying programming to public and private schools, universities, community service organizations, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs at Fortune 500 companies.

Meg is a high-demand speaker and activist. She has been featured on the TODAY show and was the keynote speaker in the Distinguished American Speakers series in Tel Aviv, hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to Israel. Meg’s writing has appeared in Parents Magazine, USA Today, Scholastic Storyworks, The Jewish Forward, The Mighty, Motherwell, and Scary Mommy. The Zucker family was also the subject of a TLC special, “My Extraordinary Family.”

I had the pleasure of meeting Meg back in 2016 and we have kept in touch on and off since. Faith had a “Flaunt It” that Meg published back then and then she reached out to me in 2020 to ask me if I would be willing to write a piece to be in her upcoming book called “Born Extraordinary” on empowering children with differences and disabilities, which is what we are going to be diving into on this episode.
