Meilech Kohn was born in 1969 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y. he was raised in a Chassidish community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Meilech grew up surrounded by music, from experimenting with a Keyboard at home as a child to listening to a variety of different genres within the world of Jewish music, be it Records, 8-Tracks, and Cassettes.
Meilech is a giant of a man with a tremendous heart and a deep, deep soul. On today's podcast, Meilech and I talk about how his music has evidence of well almost every kind of genre. Meilech's music has flairs of Techno music, Mediterranean pop, touches of trip-hop, which truly hint at musical patches of a life spent traveling, listening, and opening up the ears and the heart.
