I believe that these particular neighbor-friends of mine are tetragonisca aungustula.
In Guarani known as Jate'i or Yate'i and in Spanish, by the common name Angelitas.
They are known to produce a significant amount of honey which is valued as more powerfully medicinal than the more common honey of melissa bees.
Their colonies can be as large as 2,000 - 5,000 inhabitants.
I made a couple more videos of these beautiful beings and I will continue to document the progress of their building tomorrow. There should be a great bit of progress as I did not film them today.
When I am able to make some boxes and invite them into a relationship of cultivation, I'll keep you all in the loop as well.
Apparently the traditional method of harvesting their honey has been to destroy their nests.
Much education and dissemination of alternative practices is still needed as several of the species of native, stingless bees are scarce and/or threatened with extinction.
They of course, are extremely important to the ecosystem being the main or sometimes only pollinators of the native plant life in particular.

Creo que estos particulares vecinos-amigos míos son tetragonisca angustula.
En guaraní se las conoce como Jate'i o Yate'i y en español, por el nombre común de Angelitas.
Se sabe que producen una buena cantidad de miel que se valora como más poderosamente medicinal que la miel más común de las abejas melíferas.
Sus colonias pueden llegar a tener entre 2.000 y 5.000 habitantes.
Hice un par de videos más de estos hermosos seres y seguiré documentando el progreso de su construcción mañana. Debería haber un gran progreso ya que hoy no las he filmado.
Cuando pueda hacer algunas cajas e invitarles a una relación de cultivo, también os mantendré informados.
Al parecer, el método tradicional para recolectar su miel ha sido destruir sus nidos.
Aún se necesita mucha educación y difusión de prácticas alternativas, ya que varias de las especies de abejas nativas sin aguijón escasean y/o están en peligro de extinción.
Por supuesto, son extremadamente importantes para el ecosistema, ya que son las principales o a veces las únicas polinizadoras de las plantas autóctonas.
