Introduction to the Mellite computer music environment. Part 17: Changes introduced in 2021.
Part One (0-18 mins): Installation via launcher, implication of splitting objects in the timeline, shallow and deep copies; re-using editor windows, persisting view state; time/frequency information in the audio file editor, spectrum analyzer.
Part Two (18-35 mins): Linking Control/Widget programs with sound processes via expressions, triggers, and actions. Code editor improvements - highlighting symbol uses, rename-refactoring.
Part Three (35-57 mins): Expression programs are like Control/Widget programs but represent expressions, such as numbers, strings, predicates. Various examples of expression programs. Using them as a way to keep algorithmic control on parameters in the timeline editor.
This is based on Mellite v3.12.1. See https://www.sciss.de/mellite/ for details.
Addendum: the 'program-color' object at 54'10" is visually indistinguishable from a constant. In the next version, color programs will be indicated by an equals sign.
