Melody May: Acknowledging Vulnerability and 'Timing Out'

Listen Later

What is it that Melody May doesn’t do? A mother of three, an elementary school teacher, a yoga teacher, and jewellery business owner- Melody often finds herself leaping from one end of her profession to another in her unique journey of life.
It wasn’t until after her marriage had ended, that she was really able to understand the purposes brought forth in her life. Breaking through a variety of limiting beliefs that had previously held her back, Melody’s new chapter began. After taking a year off her profession of teaching at her elementary school and focusing on her passions, Melody had become clearer than she ever did about her life.
Our conversation in this episode of the V.O.E Experience revolves on the journey of motherhood, loneliness, vulnerability, and self-awareness. At times, when one is so critically invested in their purpose, it gets easy to really lose site of the surroundings around us. Whether that be noticing the weather outside, smiling to the person next to us, to even taking a deep mindful breath when things just don’t pan out the way we expect them to.
Melody acknowledges the importance of being self-aware and ‘timing out’ during times of distress, and seeking help when needed- even when it feels like it’s the last thing we would like to do. At the end of the day, accountability is what drives Melody towards fulfilling her passions.
