Memorial Day Fishing Report - Stripers, Cats & Bass Biting at Lake Texoma

Listen Later

Howdy folks, Artificial Lure here with your Lake Texoma fishing report for Sunday, May 25, 2025. It's shaping up to be another beautiful day on the water, and I'm excited to share what's biting out there.

Water conditions are currently stained with temperatures hovering around 65-70 degrees. The lake level is sitting about 14.91 feet above pool, so be careful navigating those flooded areas. With the Memorial Day weekend in full swing, expect heavy boat traffic today, so mind your manners out there and keep safety first.

Striper fishing continues to be downright fantastic! These linesiders are hitting hard on live shad fished on points and humps in 25-40 feet of water. Early mornings have been productive with topwaters, especially if you can spot those egrets working the banks - that's your dinner bell right there. Later in the day, try swimbaits on shallow points and creek ledges in 5-12 feet. The fish are coming to the boats to feed, making for some exciting action.

Catfishing remains excellent with our cooler temps and higher lake levels. Your best bet is drifting cut shad on deep flats off the river channels, particularly toward the ends of the lake in 25-55 feet of water. Plenty of good eating-size cats are hanging along ledges and flats in 40-50 feet on cut shad and prepared baits.

For you crappie folks, they're hitting jigs and medium minnows around brush piles in 12-15 feet. Lots of smaller fish showing up with occasional bigger females that have already spawned out.

Bass fishing is good using live shad along the south end, focusing on gravel flats off the banks in 5-10 feet of water. Smallmouth are stacked on rocky points in 6-12 feet, while largemouth are moving up into flooded brush and creek backs.

Hot spots this weekend: Little Mineral arm has been producing consistent limits of stripers, while Washita Point is heating up for cats. For bass enthusiasts, try around Soldier Creek or the rocky points near Alberta Creek.

Best bite windows are happening at dawn and again as evening approaches. With this holiday weekend heat, don't forget your sunscreen and plenty of water.

Remember, this is National Safe Boating Week, so life jackets on, kill switches attached, and let's be careful out there. Nothing ruins a good fishing day like a run-in with the game warden or worse.

This is Artificial Lure signing off - tight lines and Happy Memorial Day, y'all! See you on the water.
