كيف يمكننا أن نعيد إسمًا إلى شخص مفقود، ونمنح عائلته جوابًا طال انتظاره؟قد يبدو الحمض النووي (DNA) للوهلة الأولى مفتاحًا لكشف الحقيقة وتحديد الهوية. لكن الوصول إلى هوية شخص متوفّ أو مفقود يتطلّب أكثر من مجرّد تطابق مخبري. إنّه مسار دقيق يضمّ علومًا، وإختصاصات، وجهات متعدّدة، بهدف إعادة الإسم والهوية والكرامة إلى الإنسان.

How can we give a name back to a missing person and give their family an answer they have long been waiting for?At first glance, DNA may seem like the key to uncovering the truth and establishing a person’s identity. But identifying a deceased or missing person requires more than a laboratory match. It is a careful process that brings together science, multiple areas of expertise and different actors, all working towards restoring a person’s name, identity and dignity.

While armed conflict is not considered a direct cause of climate change, it can increase environmental pressures and affect two key pillars: economies and public health, ultimately impacting stability in affected countries. The protection of medical personnel during armed conflicts, also known as the “Health Care in Danger” initiative, is one of the most important files for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), directly linked to the principles and implementation of international humanitarian law.
