For today’s show, host Ali Muldrow speaks with Dr. Brian Nguyen, OB/GYN and founder of the EMERGE Lab who describes himself as “an advocate for women’s health and voice for men’s reproductive responsibility.”

They talk about a range of topics about men’s involvement, responsibility, and advocacy in reproductive issues, including how to support without “mansplaining,” advances in male hormonal birth control, and how men can proactively participate in and normalize discussions about reproductive health, (unplanned) pregnancy, family planning, and abortion.

Dr. Brian Nguyen is Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, where he also serves as the Family Planning Fellowship Program Director. He is a practicing OB/GYN and founder of the Expanding Male Engagement in Reproductive and Gender Equity (EMERGE) Lab.
