So many times we focus on the behaviors of people. The alcohol, drugs, sex addiction, overspending and so much more. But we don’t take the time to look at the why or the what behind those behaviors!
Why do I turn to alcohol or drugs or sex to numb or check out?? Mental health Illness like anxiety and depression that often need medical/treatment intervention can lead to and/or contribute to out of control behaviors. So how can recovery help? How do we talk about it and begin to address it instead of ignoring it and saying “you just need to snap out if it, pray more, trust God more,etc?”
