In this hour, we focus on mental health and probe into one of the most difficult conversations we can have with ourselves: admitting that something is wrong and accepting that we need help. We look into three areas that impact our journey: (1) our health-seeking behaviours, (2) the resources available in the public/private sphere and (3) the social stigma that people with mental illness encounter. In the second half hour, we would zone in on men's mental health as they are the most vulnerable group in society when it comes to suicide, according to the South African Society of Psychiatrists. Our nation has ranked in the top ten countries battling with mental health.
