We came here today to honor May, or Mental Health Awareness Month. TW: we do mention suicidal ideation and sexual trauma. We have done an episode about it before but this one isn’t scripted, we just talked about our experiences, some of which are very scary and hard to discuss. We gave advice about how to be there for someone with a mental health disorder, talked about derealization and depersonalization, and to finish we read some beautiful poetry from two of Liz’s good friends. April’s poem is called “Sedative” and if you’d like to hear more of this gorgeous woman’s work, go to her Instagram: Foxesandpoems — you should also check out her website — https://foxesandpoems.wordpress.com ••••
Then, we read a poem from Liz’s bestie Laura M.B.Schmidt ! Liz read: Auditory, Pieces, Wraithsong, Borderline from Laura’s book Grey. I highly suggest Grey and also Johnny Kid And The Art Of Dreaming - they’re amazing! For more information, and for links to buy Laura’s books, go to-
