"When I say, 'be in the moment', what I mean is, then next time you're in a moment, be there."
According to me, "thoughts" are closer in definition to "rumination". In other words, inwardly dwelling and ruminating on information - usually about the past, the future, or what someone else did or doesn't do and why - is essentially self-ruination. By that I mean, if you do not practice being in the moment - and, unfortunately, the only way to practice being in the moment is to be in the moment; especially uncomfortable moments - you will slowly get worse and worse at being in the moment. I strongly believe that all addictions and escapist behaviour is motivated by nothing more than an individual's inability to be where they are. It's that simple.
Tune in every Monday night at 8pm (Toronto time) for my IG live, Mitchy by Mondays, on my @understandtrees account. I talk about stuff like this, and often interview very interesting folk.
