We have a choice: we can learn from experiences, or we can learn from others. Learning from our own experiences can often be painful, frustrating, and time consuming, not to mention costly. Learning from others saves time and resources and lessens pain and frustration. A wise person does the latter.

We need three types of people in our lives.

Friends. Those who walk alongside us whom we can mutually support and encourage. Friends help us to boost our self confidence and self worth.

Mentors. Those we learn from as they share wisdom and life lessons. They challenge us to grow and fulfill our potential. Mentors can help us toactualize our deepest dreams and fullest potential.

Mentees. Each of us ought to be mentoring others, people with whom we can share our experiences. As we have been mentored, we can do the same for someone else. We should not discount what we know, especially when sharing what we knowinspires others to be better.

Today’s session looks at a brief incident of mentoring in the life of Moses. Without the mentoring that took place, Moses’s life could have been quite different.
