Young artists are a special breed. They need individuals to come alongside them who understand what they are going through. Ruth Douthit is one of those people. Ruth is an artist and a writer who has published 14 books! She has worked as a teacher, instructor, and mentor in the art and writing worlds. Ruth and I chat about what comes easy to her and how she struggles as an artist. We talk about constructive criticism, the need for a thick skin in the arts, the struggle between creating what we love and creating what makes money, and the various ways she encourages young artists and writers in their journeys!
