She called friends, telling at least one of them she felt scared and needed a ride back to her car, and then the calls ended. By the next day, her family's worry turned into alarm when a notice arrived saying her car had been towed; when her mother went to retrieve it, key personal belongings were still inside, including the same purse investigators later noted she appeared to be carrying in the surveillance footage.
