Text: Romans 9:13-16.

In this portion of Romans 9, Paul amplifies the doctrine of divine election by introducing its counterpart: divine reprobation or rejection. Why did God love Jacob but hate Esau? This is one of the most puzzling statements in all the Scripture and yet the Lord does provide the answer. Today we're looking at the roots of God's mercy and His justice, as well as their mutual exclusivity.
