What if the life, joy, purpose, and fulfillment you’ve been searching for aren’t found in something—but in Someone? In this powerful message from 1 John 1, we go back to the foundation of our faith and the truth of who Jesus really is.John didn’t simply know about Jesus. He walked with Him. He heard Him. He saw Him. He touched Him. And John declares that Jesus is the **Word of Life**—the eternal Son of God who was there from the beginning, through whom all things were created, and who stepped into our world so that we could know God personally.Jesus isn’t simply another part of our lives. **Jesus is life.**Our world is overflowing with information, opinions, philosophies, distractions, and things promising to give us happiness and fulfillment. We can spend our entire lives learning, achieving, building families, pursuing success—even going to church—and still miss the One who matters most.Because Christianity isn’t ultimately about knowing more information about God.**It’s about knowing Him.**In this sermon, we explore:• What John means when he calls Jesus the “Word of Life”• Why Jesus existed before Bethlehem and was present from the beginning• What it means that Jesus is the full expression of God• Paul’s powerful message about the “unknown God” on Mars Hill in Acts 17• How idols distort our understanding of who God really is• Why our culture’s endless pursuit of information can never replace fellowship with Christ• The difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Jesus• How believers can experience real fellowship and communion with God• Why true joy, purpose, salvation, and eternal life are ultimately found in a PersonThe same fellowship with Jesus that John experienced is the fellowship we are invited into today. There is a seat at the table. It has been bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ. And you were invited.**Salvation is not simply an event that happened in your past. Salvation is a Person.****Do you know Him?**📖 KEY SCRIPTURES1 John 1:1–4John 1:1–14John 14:6John 17:3Colossians 1:13–20Hebrews 1Acts 171 Corinthians 10–11If this message encouraged you or helped you see Jesus more clearly, **LIKE this video and SHARE it with someone who needs to hear it.**🔔 **SUBSCRIBE to the Mercy Movement YouTube channel** and turn on notifications so you don’t miss new sermons, worship, testimonies, and messages each week.📲 **DOWNLOAD THE MERCY MOVEMENT APP** to stay connected throughout the week and access messages, resources, upcoming events, and everything happening at Mercy.📱 **FOLLOW MERCY MOVEMENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA** for sermon clips, encouragement, church updates, events, and more ways to stay connected throughout the week. Our prayer is bigger than simply learning more about God.We want to **know Him.**To hear Him.To walk with Him.To fellowship with Him.And to experience the fullness of joy that can only be found in Jesus.**Jesus is not simply part of life. What if repentance isn't something to fear—but one of God's greatest gifts? When Jesus began His ministry, His first invitation wasn't simply, "Believe the gospel." It was:"Repent and believe the gospel." (Mark 1)In this message, we discover that repentance is far more than turning away from sin. It's a continual transformation of the mind as we see more of Jesus, surrender more of our lives to Him, and walk in the freedom He purchased on the cross.Through the life of David, we'll see that true repentance isn't about earning God's forgiveness—it's about fully surrendering to the One who has already paid the price for you.If you've ever struggled with guilt, hidden sin, shame, or wondered how to truly experience lasting transformation, this message is for you.In this message you'll discover:What biblical repentance really meansWhy repentance is a lifelong journeyThe difference between remorse and true repentanceWhy Jesus preached "Repent and believe"How repentance leads to freedom, restoration, and joyWhy surrender always leads to God's bestScripture: Mark 1, 1 Chronicles 21, Hebrews 12, 1 Corinthians 11Stay Connected Throughout the Week📱 Download the Mercy Movement App for sermons, devotionals, event updates, Bible reading resources, and everything happening at Mercy throughout the week.👍 If this message encouraged you:Like this videoSubscribe to our channelTurn on notificationsShare this message with someone who needs hope todayFollow Mercy Movement on all of our social media platforms for daily encouragement, sermon clips, devotionals, and updates throughout the week.Thank you for being part of what God is doing through Mercy Movement. As we close out our study in James, we land on his final words: "Whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death." This morning, Pastor Jordan walks through the three levels of restoration every believer moves through when they confess and turn from sin — restoration to God, relational restoration, and restoration to the church community. But when a pastor or elder falls, there's a fourth level: restoration to ministry — and Scripture is clear that this one is never automatic or guaranteed. In this message, Pastor Jordan also shares an update on his own journey since stepping away from ministry, and announces a season of biblical church discipline in partnership with Steele Creek Church in Charlotte — including stepping back from the pulpit for a minimum of six months. This is a raw, honest, and hope-filled conversation about what it means to walk in repentance and what biblical restoration actually looks like.Scriptures referenced: James 5:19-20 | 1 John 1:9 | Matthew 5:23 | Matthew 18 | 2 Corinthians 2:5-10 | 1 Timothy 3🔗 Learn more about Mercy Movement Church: www.mercymovement.org📍 Join us every Sunday#MercyMovementChurch #Restoration #ChurchDiscipline #Repentance #Sermon

He reveals how divided devotion, worldly passions, pride, and misplaced priorities can quietly pull us away from the presence of God. But this message doesn't stop with conviction—it points us to the incredible grace of God and the path to true freedom through repentance, humility, and wholehearted surrender.
If you've ever felt spiritually dry, distracted, restless, or stuck between following Jesus and pursuing the things of this world, this message is for you.
