Meredith Swift Speaks Up About Her Life and Devotional Book

Listen Later

Writing is the perfect outlet for me. I am an introverted extrovert – loving my space and quiet time but also loving to connect and engage with people. I am interested in people from all walks of life – and I believe that everyone has a story to tell. My own story has many chapters so far and I’m hoping there are many more to come. I write about life through the eyes of a follower of Jesus. My first book “Hearing His Voice: Meeting Jesus in the Garden of Promise – a Devotional Journey of Encouragement” grew out of a season of massive challenge. My main way of dealing with this was to lean in close to Jesus and write the words of comfort and encouragement that He spoke to me. These words quite literally poured out onto the page. Every part of this book was given to me by Him – the words, the format, the cover – everything. Having accepted Jesus into my heart in 2010, I find the journey I am on with Him to be the most important and profound journey of my life. I love Him more and more each and every day and cannot begin to express the depth of gratitude I have that He saved someone like me. Before I accepted Him into my heart I lived a life that had a lot of pain and sadness in it, including an abusive marriage. Today my life is completely transformed from those dark days and I am so grateful for every moment that I am given. I owe this all to Jesus.
Besides my love for Jesus and my family (I have two beautiful daughters) and friends, I also love to cook! I am a “thrower” as in I love to take ingredients and throw them together, creating a taste sensation that is nourishing and comforting. I am aiming to get healthier as I get older and my favourite exercise is walking in nature. Reading is a big passion of mine and I read every day. Each month, I feature books on my Blog that I have read and found to be inspiring and encouraging. If you have a book that you think I might like to read, please reach out to me!
I am so excited at the prospect of journeying with you and getting to know you better. I love to receive your feedback and emails and will reply to you as quickly as possible. No question or concern is too big or small.
Live life with gratitude and with full awareness that each moment is precious and unique. You are precious and unique!
God bless you!
Love, Meredith
