Percy Peach in action
I just recently discovered this long running series, and I am thoroughly hooked. Percy Peach is an interesting and astute character with a wry sense of humor. In Merely Players, he is solving the murder of a well-known television actor -- a self-centered and shallow man. Was the perpetrator the young actress he recently vetoed for a continuing roll? Was it his neglected wife? His wife's lover? His newly spurned agent, who is suspected to have Mafia ties? Is it his director or producer, both of whose recommendations he discarded? Was it the old actor who had championed him only to be ignored later? Or possibly the old actor's lover? Could it have been the brother on whom all responsibility for an aging parent was placed? Or maybe his wife? There is no shortage of suspects in this murder inquiry.
