A community tribute was held in Merrylands, western Sydney, one week after 38-year-old Amamuddin Sadar was killed in an unprovoked stabbing attack at local shops that left two others critically injured. The victim's partner, Becky Ramadani, has criticised the state's health system after the alleged attacker, 25-year-old Setefano Leaatoa, escaped from Cumberland Hospital less than two weeks before the attack, despite court orders to be detained in a mental health facility. The Merrylands community has raised funds to bring the victim's siblings from Dubai for the funeral.
