This podcast is to shed light on collegiate athletes during and after their time attending/competing at various universities. While completing my studies as a graduate student/assistant at the University of South Alabama, I had the opportunity to experience college much like regular students. As a GA, I had more time to network, attend various events, and use various academic services throughout the university. Those opportunities were not present/presented during my years as an undergraduate student-athlete.  While competing on a Division 1 basketball team, everything was either schedule or in place for myself to ensure that I meet all academic standards. Unlike regular students, collegiate athletes are on a set schedule that limits their ability to network, work (internship), are choose majors that may become beneficial after their playing days are over. Athletes usually don’t understand those limitations until once their respective careers/sports are over. In many cases, athletes find themselves lost and confused during the transition phase of life.
