I entered an astral plane challenge where powerful objects blocked my path. Neither Launch nor the service weapon worked until I used environmental objects to destabilize the barriers. After reaching the hotline, a vision explained the phone's connection to the Board, leaving Jesse physically drained and bleeding.

After reaching the hotline, I was sent to complete another astral plane challenge. The world around me dissolved into black pillars and floating blocks that tested my mental fortitude. I prepared myself for the trials that the Board had set for my initiation.

I noticed a powerful object that was blocking my way. I tried my level best to take it down with my new Launch ability, pulling blocks from the floor and hurling them with force. However, nothing happened to the object.

Then I used my service weapon to try if it works, firing several rounds into the core of the obstacle. Still, I had no luck. The bullets seemed to be absorbed or deflected by the strange energy surrounding the object.

I went close to the object to see what it does, and it started releasing a heavy echo. The sound was incredibly disturbing to my character, causing the screen to distort.

I ran back, and this time I noticed the object was losing its stability for a little while. By throwing heavy objects at it repeatedly, I managed to create a brief window of opportunity. The barrier flickered and slowed down, allowing me a few precious seconds to dash past it safely.

I did the same for another similar object on my way ahead. By timing my throws perfectly, I kept the obstacles in a state of flux. I moved through the white void with more confidence, learning how to manipulate the environment to overcome these seemingly invincible astral guardians.

I reached the hotline at the end of the astral plane to finish the challenge. The red telephone sat atop a pedestal, ringing with a persistent, echoing sound.

A cinematic started where a man, who was likely a professor, was speaking. He explained that the phone is an Object of Power, serving as a direct line to the astral plane and the Board.

The ex-director's shadow was shown again, a silent reminder of the man I was replacing. When the call finally ended, my character, Jesse, started bleeding through her nose.
