We come to the end of our "Who Am I" worship series with this text from Mark. Here Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" After getting some answers, Jesus lets them know that the road that leads to Messiahship is challenging; and therefore the road of discipleship is as well. Perhaps because of that, God gives a gift to the disciples and to us: the Transfiguration.
Note: near the end of the sermon I have a phrase, "Even if the storm is all around you, the storm does not need to be in you." I unabashedly stole that sentiment (although they phrased it much more poetically) from The Afters in their song "No More Fear."
