Please turn in your Bibles to 1 Samuel 16 and 1 Samuel 24
“I know a mess when I see one because I am one!”
How to avoid the ER: mess to messier
Realize: every mess comes with a list of bad options
The men said, “This is the day the LORD spoke of when He said to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.” 1 Samuel 24:4
Option 1: Expediency: the quick-easy fix
“The LORD forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the LORD’s anointed, or lay my hand on him; for he is the anointed of the LORD.” 1 Samuel 24:6
Option 2: Virtue: trusting God’s way and time
How to Avoid the ER: Stop—Drop—and Roll
-Stop: take the offense. Refuse to feel pushed
-Drop: with thanksgiving, give it to God in prayer
-Roll: be ready to change course as God directs
