META and FOX pay up BIG TIME, Netflix cuts DVDs, Pfizer Sued//'Econ Recaps

In today's recap, the S&P 500 closed up almost 1%, and individual stocks were impacted by analyst recommendations. Nvidia and Tyler Technologies rose after upgrades, while Catalent and Dish Network fell after downgrades. Pfizer is facing a patent infringement lawsuit over their COVID-19 vaccine, and Facebook's parent company, Meta, agreed to pay $725 million to settle a privacy lawsuit. Southwest Airlines had to ground all flights due to data connection issues, and preliminary building permits were slightly below expectations. Netflix reported a quarter in line with expectations, while Goldman Sachs missed revenue estimates but beat earnings per share. Fox News settled a lawsuit with Dominion for $787 million over baseless election tampering claims.
