This is Shred and recently I've been thinking about a cold hard truth. Why do bands suck late in their careers? Think about it...no one seems to write their best songs at 60. Metallica's sales have steadily gone down ever since the Black Album. Now here's the thing, I'm not here to hate. I'd actually love to be proved wrong on this. That's why today we'll be watching a live performance of Metallica's new material, recorded just about a month ago. Will they be able to escape the curse that plagues most bands, or can they break the mold? Also, I'd love to know if you can think of bands who wrote their best songs in old age.
