[Esta es la versión en inglés del episodio especial Metano, Poder y Dinero, disponible aquí: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4Hg9ycW4GyDvqZRyMaqL0Q?si=We49DbF1RDS1edR8g2bxvQ]
Cow burps are warming the planet. When cows burp, they release methane into the environment — a gas that rises into the atmosphere and acts like a blanket, trapping heat and preventing it from escaping into space.
In other words, methane is a powerful greenhouse gas and one of the main drivers of the climate crisis we are currently experiencing.
But to avoid the level of alarm this should generate — and to protect the livestock industry — the sector has developed a strategy. In this episode, we uncover and explain that plan.
This podcast is part of Maximiliano Manzoni’s investigation The Methane War, a project by Climate Tracker Latin America and Consenso, supported by the Bertha Challenge 2025.
