Today is August 7, 2016. Travel back with me to this day in 1962. We’re at Dodger Stadium where the last-place Mets are playing the first-place Dodgers, and where those Mets will lose the game 7-5, dropping their record to 29-82, a whopping 46 ½ games out of first place, and mathematically eliminating themselves from the pennant.
