The New York Mets fired manager Carlos Mendoza on Friday in a surprising move, just based on the timing. This was a long time coming and it was something the team should have done multiple times.

Now, this won't fix the Mets and their problems but the manager had major issues and he deserved to lose his job.

The New York Mets salvaged the series finale vs the Mariners on Wednesday afternoon in a day that saw Bo Bichette go 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs.

The Mets won 7-1 and Freddy Peralta went six innings, only the second time a Mets starter or bulk reliever has done that since Clay Holmes went down.

That is a key to their season moving forward. Can they get length out of their starters? How confident am I that they're going to be able to do that? Find out on this episode.

Plus, both David Stearns and Carlos Mendoza spoke to the media on Friday afternoon. I give my take on what was said and I go over some of the questions I would have asked the Mets President of Baseball Operations.
