Mexico is one of the few places in the Americas where we have a good grasp of what society was like before the Europeans came along and ruined it. In this episode we talk of everything pre-Columbian with a special focus on the Maya and the Aztecs. Following this we discuss the Spanish colonial era and independence. We finish by discussing the devastating war on drugs and extrajudicial killings that have harmed Mexico's development in the 21st century.
