For Micah, community involvement & engagement is second nature.
Micah currently serves as the Community and Family Engagement Coordinator for United Way of Acadiana and Love Our Schools, an organization dedicated to engaging the community to improve lives through leadership and education. In this role, he works to lead CAFÉ efforts to increase, organize, and coordinate community-based resources in support of principals' strategies for increased community engagement on their campuses.
Originally from New Iberia, Louisiana, Micah has a degree in Psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration. During the pandemic, he also completed the University of South Florida’s Diversity and Inclusion & Inclusive and Ethical Leadership certificate programs. As a strategic thinker, facilitator, and youth development advocate, Micah works to connect the dots between developing the next generation and improving the communities they live in. When Micah isn’t working in his official capacity, he is busy lending his skills to other nonprofit organizations in the area. He currently serves as Board of Directors Vice President for Solomon House Food Pantry and is a member of the Iberia African American Alliance, African American Heritage Foundation, LPSS Gifted Advisory Panel, and Episcopal School of Acadiana Board of Trustees. In 2018, he was named as one of the Daily Iberian’s Top 20 Under 40.
