Majoring in the Minors (Minor Prophets)Micah: The Truth of the Coming KingPlease turn in your Bibles to the Prophecy of Micah. Micah 7:18-20: Micah: Meaning (rhetorical question) - “Who is like God?” There is an enemy who wants to give us the wrong impression of God.He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44b“…If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32App: Recognizing that there are arguments that have been set up against the things of God; we seek truth.Micah 1:1: These three kings tell us that Isaiah and Micah were contemporaries. (680-750 BC)Compare Micah 4:1-3 with Isaiah 2:2-4App: When you hear the same Biblical truth from multiple sources, give thanks and celebrate what God is speaking. Vs 1: Samaria (Capital of Northern Kingdom: Israel)Jerusalem (Capital of Southern Kingdom: Judah)1.A call for believers to pray for political centers1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1Timothy 2:1-2App: We pray for spiritual leaders as their decisions have impact upon the Church and the things of God. 2.A call to pray against “high places”For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12“Heavenly realms” doesn’t mean heaven, but another spiritual reality: the place of spiritual conflict.The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2Corinthians 10:4-5App: All Eyes on Jesus. As we learn to walk in the spirit, by faith we can see spiritual strongholds destroyed.What is God’s Spirit speaking into your life today? How must you respond?
