Collaborative pairings are common in the world of dance music, but few can compare to the combined talents brought together for Perspectives Digital's 59th release. Rick Pier O'Neil, Michael & Levan, and Stiven Rivic have held a fruitful partnership since 2015 that has seen a clutch of successful releases. A victory in Darin Epsilon and Cid Inc's "Outliers" Beatport remix competition was a notable highlight. Three years later, the quartet reunite once again for their "Dementia" EP.

As a former remixer for Sony BMG, working with such stars as Donna Summer, Lenny Kravitz, and Stevie Wonder, Rick Pier O'Neil's credentials are second to none. Subsequent founder of the RPO and Garbage imprints, O'Neil's foray into underground dance music has been met with no less success. Much sought after and highly prolific, the French producer's work for a host of other labels has seen him with almost 1,000 production credits to his name.

The story of brothers Michael & Levan and long-term partner, Stiven Rivic, is no less compelling. Coming together in 2008, the trio's portfolio boasts over 600 production credits on labels as Sudbeat, microCastle, Replug, J00F, and Proton Music. Furthermore, the creation of their Mistique Music and Kunai Records imprints have brought them to the forefront of the underground Progressive House movement.

The opener is a glorious concoction of intricate percussive grooves, shuffling hi hats, and panned toms alongside a head-shaking bass pattern. Evolving elegantly, "Dementia" builds as luscious pads and textured melodic sequences blend together creating a hypnotic and eerie soundscape. Rising and falling with consummate ease, the inclusion of a rippling, delayed piano roll adds further depth.

"Obsession" supplies a dominant kick and offbeat percussion that provide the perfect backdrop for a running bassline to bounce across the left-right spectrum. A collage of sonic components impress before steam-powered, white noise effects and sustained industrial hits stimulate the senses. Built for the club, a huge aural soundscape builds in intensity to create a classy track.

Label owner Darin Epsilon completes the picture using his full range of technical expertise from a career traveling the world's biggest clubs and signing with the industry's most notable imprints. His sonic masterpiece retains the same dancefloor urgency of the original, creating a new bassline that is the perfect accompaniment for a chest-thumping kick and exquisitely stratified percussive layers. A melodic sequence filters into sonic range to match the peaks and troughs of a sublime arrangement. The result is a remix of dynamic and high-octane brilliance.
