A lot of music artists sampled McDonald’s song. Warren G, Nate Dogg, Young MC and others. I Keep Forgettin’ was released in 1982. It peaked at no. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Singles charts, #7 R&B and #8 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
Michael McDonald has a soulful voice. He was a member of the band the Doobie Brothers. He collaborated with a number of artists like Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, The rock band Toto & Grizzly Bear. McDonald is the recipient of five Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Doobie Brothers in 2020.
