Michael Mertz, was drafted in the 14th round by the Miami Marlins. As an undersized youth athlete he started his collegiate baseball career in Juco until he was able to play for Oklahoma State in the College World Series. Sammy and Michael discuss how his injury transformed him as a player as well as what he has learned from his transition to coaching from a player. He is currently coaching in Austin, TX.
