Michael Mitchell was one of the ultimate football entertainers.
The high-flyer was a fan favourite at both Claremont and Richmond, one of the most athletic talents of his era and played for WA during State footy’s peak.
He played 88 games in the WAFL, 81 games at Punt Road, and now the Carnarvon-born legend has shared stories of learning the sport in the State’s Mid West, moving to Perth and how following his heroes to the VFL changed his life.
The newly-minted West Australian Football Hall of Fame member opens up on the important work in the Indigenous mental health space and his deep connection with both clubs.
Michael’s is a story of passion and drive, delivered with plenty of humour. He also gives the inside word on the remarkable season he took the VFL’s best mark and best goal in the same season.
