I recently watched Michael Phelps: Medals, Memories & More and there are so many lessons we can capture from this three-part series that I wanted to explore it further on the podcast this week. His story alludes to the importance of what happens after the race, and I'm sharing how this is relevant in our lives.
Life feels difficult for many of us right now. People are tired of the pandemic and wanting to go back to normal, and the uncertainty is tough because we are all so raw. But these times have allowed us to develop our feelings systems, and there's a lot we can take from Olympic athletes to help us with this.
Michael Phelps is the best Olympian of all time, and his three-part system of preparation, racing, and recovery has enabled him to win all of his gold medals. This system can help us stop suppressing our feelings and self-sabotaging and start feeling our emotions.
I invite you to consider what we can learn from Michael Phelps this week. By developing an awareness of what's going on inside, you can enhance your capacity to feel your emotions and manage them accordingly. We can create an emotional intelligence that we can integrate into other systems to thrive in our lives.
Listen in this week as I discuss the importance of being able to process your emotions and what we can learn from Michael Phelps' Olympic success. I'm exploring how to cultivate a feeling system and become a deliberate creator so that you can show up better, become the person you want to be, and create the life you truly desire.
