Apprenticed at 13, he later studied classical sculpture under the patronage of the Medici family, developing his signature style of powerful realism. His masterpieces include the statue David, the Pietà, and the breathtaking ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, featuring The Creation of Adam. He also served as chief architect of St. Peter's Basilica. Deeply devoted to God, Michelangelo believed his talents were a sacred trust, and his art continues to inspire faith, beauty, and devotion centuries later.
