Michigan lost a close game to Penn State 28-21 and it opened up a lot of questions about how the Wolverines will fare against Michigan State, Ohio State or Notre Dame. James Yoder, host of the Michigan Football Report, weighs in on Josh Gattis’ play calling, offensive confidence and Jim Harbaugh’s future.

Brad Hawkins, Ambry Thomas and Vincent Gray led the secondary with tackles, but it appeared that the defense was unable to stop Penn State’s receiving corps. While the defense and Don Brown seemed to have no answers for the Nittany Lions, Josh Gattis’ offense gave Michigan fans hope for the future.

Josh Gattis seemed to really be able to open up the playbook when the team was down. The Michigan receiving corps had one of it’s best games, but the streak of 34 games without a 100-yard receiver continues. Which has some people wondering, is Michigan cursed? Nevertheless, Nico Collins and Ronnie Bell both had more than 80 yards receiving and if it weren’t for the DPJ drop, U-M could’ve pulled out the W.
