Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor

Listen Later

The Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor is a renowned Buffalo neighborhood, offering a vibrant experience to explore Buffalo's rich African American history through unique structures, shops, restaurants, and historical markers, with a significant impact on local, national, and international history. Our guests this week are Terry Alford, Executive Director at the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor , and Andreina Taylor, the Corridor's 2023 Cornell University Summer High Road Fellow.

Terry and Andreina delve into the historical significance of the Corridor, including its representation of 150 years of the African American experience, and their efforts to promote economic development, community engagement, and historical preservation. You'll also hear about upcoming events, such as the annual Queen City Jazz Festival and weekly farmers' market.
