Microsoft has announced the development of two new custom-designed infrastructure chips aimed at enhancing AI performance and data security in its data centers. These chips, including the Azure Integrated Hardware Security Module (HSM) and a data processing unit (DPU), are part of Microsoft's strategy to optimize performance, reduce costs, and decrease reliance on third-party suppliers, while also introducing advanced liquid cooling systems to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
