Alaska’s waters could open to seafloor mineral mining. Former Sitka state representative Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins entered the race for governor this week. And yesterday the U.S. Senate confirmed Aaron C. Peterson of Anchorage to be a federal District Court judge in Alaska.
