When the house is quiet.
When the dishes are drying.
When you finally sit down and realize you’re not tired… you’re carrying everyone.

Tonight’s Midnight Snack is a soft, kitchen-table confession about something I didn’t see for years:

How compassion can become a survival strategy.
How love can accidentally become self-erasure.
And how, before we’re aware of our wounds, we pass them down right alongside our gifts.

I didn’t teach my kids to overgive.

I taught them how to love.

But because I never learned boundaries… they never saw them modeled either.

So they grew into beautiful, generous humans who know how to carry everything — and everyone — except themselves.

This episode isn’t about blame.
It’s about patterns.
It’s about lineage.
It’s about the quiet moment when you realize:

“Oh… this didn’t start with them.
It started with me.
And that means it can end with me too.”

If you’ve always been the strong one…
the helper…
the rescuer…
the one who handles it all…
